Design of a tent with an integrated flexible, rollable solar panel that ensures energy self sufficiency at Everest Base Camp. It withstands extreme conditions and is extremely lightweight. It reduces the use of fossil fuels such as gas and kerosene. Manufactured in Kathmandu using recycled nylon from other abandoned tents, it promotes local employment and supports Nepal’s economy. The innovation of the design lies in solar energy generation, transforming a shelter element into a modular, scalable, and shared energy infrastructure, adapted to the changing needs of the camp. It is fully dismantlable, leaves no waste, and does not disturb the natural environment, fostering a more responsible and sustainable model of high-altitude tourism.
